FanDuel enhances golf offering with live in-play betting ahead of FedEx cup playoffs

US sports betting giant FanDuel has announced a partnership with sports data supplier IMG Arena to integrate its Golf Event Centre into its sportsbook starting August 10 with the FedEx St. Jude Championship playoffs, strengthening the platform’s golf betting offering with in-round wagering.

The collaboration aims to elevate the golf betting experience for fans by offering an expanded range of in-tournament betting lines and challenges, enhancing engagement during PGA TOUR events. The enhanced platform will be available to FanDuel Sportsbook customers in 19 states across the US.

Through this partnership, FanDuel Sportsbook customers will have access to an array of new betting options, starting with the upcoming St. Jude Championship, the first leg of the 2023 FedExCup Playoffs, to be held at TPC Southwind.

This move follows FanDuel’s designation as an “Official Betting Operator” of the PGA TOUR in August 2020, which allows the sportsbook operator to utilize PGA TOUR logos and advertise within the Tour’s broadcasts and streaming platforms.

The integration of IMG Arena’s Golf Event Centre into FanDuel’s platform promises to bring a library of live wagering markets to golf bettors, including challenges such as closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, number of birdies, and other stroke-by-stroke bets.

Christian Genetski, President of FanDuel Group, stated: “By integrating IMG Arena’s Golf Event Centre into our sportsbook platform, we can offer fans access to a robust catalog of live markets that will give them new ways to engage with the sport on every hole.”

The IMG Arena Golf Event Centre will also provide FanDuel with enhanced data visualization. The platform will allow users to track each shot in real-time, view hole profiles, and access course maps. FanDuel customers will also benefit from a live leaderboard, providing hole-by-hole performance tracking of players.

Scott Warfield, Vice President of Gaming at the PGA TOUR, highlighted the impact of the Golf Event Centre on fan engagement: “Integrating the Golf Event Centre into FanDuel Sportsbook will be a massive win for golf fans, who will now have a robust offering of betting options to choose from as they tune in to see their favorite players and tournaments.”

In addition to the digital enhancements, FanDuel is extending its presence to the physical golf event. During the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the sportsbook is sponsoring a “Bunker Shot Challenge,” giving fans the opportunity to win $5,000 in Bonus Bets. The company is also offering a 25% profit boost on live market bets placed during the tournament.

Brian Clayton, Vice President of Sales – Americas at IMG ARENA, added: “Our Golf Event Centre is an industry-first product that enables interactive in-play betting on golf for the first time, bringing a new dimension to the golf experience for fans around the world.”

Now FanDuel customers can enjoy its immersive data-visualization features during the PGA TOUR’s world-class tournaments, and benefit from unique markets to enjoy every shot, hole and player.”
