Fanatics sportsbook opens at Progressive Field in Cleveland

Fanatics Betting and Gaming, the sports betting subsidiary of Fanatics Holdings, has unveiled its inaugural retail sportsbook in partnership with the Cleveland Guardians, situated at Progressive Field.

Cleveland Guardians Vice President of Corporate and Premium Partnerships Ted Baugh expressed the team’s enthusiasm, stating: ‘We’re very excited to partner with Fanatics Betting and Gaming to bring a retail sportsbook location, their first in Major League Baseball, outside Progressive Field in downtown Cleveland. This will provide our fans a very convenient in-person option to place bets.'”

To mark the occasion, former Cleveland Guardians pitcher Paul Shuey placed the ceremonial first bet at the newly inaugurated Fanatics Sportsbook.

Shuey, a University of North Carolina alumnus and a 1992 first-round pick for Cleveland, wagered $20 on the University of North Carolina’s football team to win their home opener against the University of South Carolina on September 2, 2023.

Ari Borod, Chief Business Officer of Fanatics Betting and Gaming, emphasized the significance of this retail sportsbook, stating” “This is Fanatics Betting and Gaming’s first retail sportsbook at a Major League Ballpark.”

“We designed this location to complement our online sports betting app and usher in a brand new sports betting experience with the most rewarding online sportsbook in Ohio, allowing customers to earn up to 5% back in FanCash on every bet.”

The Fanatics Sportsbook app is now accessible for download on both iOS and Android platforms, catering to sports enthusiasts in Ohio.

The app offers an array of user-friendly features, including seamless registration, straightforward betting, transparent withdrawals, a search function, and a curated Discover page highlighting the most significant sports and bets.

Located outside the Right Field District Gate at the intersection of Larry Doby Way and East 9th Street, the Fanatics Sportsbook at Progressive Field spans nearly 600 square feet. It boasts two betting windows, four self-service betting kiosks, and seven TV monitors.

Betting enthusiasts can explore legal markets for major sports, encompassing professional and college football, basketball, hockey, baseball, as well as tennis, soccer, golf, MMA, and boxing. The sports betting markets’ development and trading will be handled in-house at Fanatics Betting and Gaming, with support from top-tier trading suppliers.

Importantly, fans seeking to place in-person bets will not require a Guardians game ticket for access to the sportsbook.

Fanatics Betting and Gaming, in collaboration with the Cleveland Guardians, prioritizes responsible gaming. Staff at the Fanatics Sportsbook at Progressive Field have undergone responsible wagering training and are equipped to provide support services to customers when necessary.

The Fanatics Sportsbook at Progressive Field will be open on weekdays from 2 pm to 8 pm and on weekends from 11 am to 9 pm. On game days, the sportsbook will open two hours before the first pitch and remain accessible throughout the game.
