Formula One announces 2024 Las Vegas grand prix date ahead of inaugural edition

Formula One (F1) has revealed the date for the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix, even before the inaugural race in the gambling mecca is held this fall.

According to F1’s announcement on Wednesday, the 2024 Las Vegas Grand Prix is set to take place from November 21 to 23. The race in Southern Nevada is one of the 24 events featured on F1’s calendar for 2024.

The unveiled dates of next year’s event come as anticipation keeps building for the first Las Vegas Grand Prix, scheduled for November 16 to 18 this year. The night race will take place on a 3.8-mile circuit encompassing Las Vegas Boulevard, Koval Lane, and Harmon and Sands avenues. During the 50-lap race, drivers will reach speeds of up to 212 mph.

As crews continue their efforts on F1’s $500 million paddock building, situated at the northeast corner of Harmon and Koval, preparations for this year’s race are progressing steadily. Initial track paving is nearing completion, with final paving operations expected to commence later in the summer.

“We have plenty of racing to look forward to in 2023, including the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix, and our fans can look forward to more excitement next season,” stated Stefano Domenicali, the President and CEO of Formula One, expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming races.

Earlier this year, Clark County commissioners unanimously approved recognizing the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix as an annual event for at least 10 years, as officials look to make it a permanent fixture. “We anticipate a lifetime together in partnership,” said Commission Chairman Jim Gibson at the time of the announcement.

VIP packages for the race are already well into the seven-figure range. In December, Caesars Entertainment revealed its Emperor Package, which costs $5 million. It includes a dozen Paddock Club passes throughout race week, tickets to see Adele in concert at Caesars Palace, five nights in a 4,700-square-foot terrace suite overlooking the racetrack, around-the-clock butler service, and more.
